Beatles - Shea Stadium

The Beatles - Shea Stadium (with intro). From the utube page:

The US tour really opened on August 15th with a concert scheduled in New York at the Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets baseball team. This was the first time in the history of music that a stadium was used for a rock concert ! Seen by 55,600 fans, it created a new world record for a pop concert in terms of attendance and gross revenue. The Beatles' share of the $304,000 box-office takings was also a record - $160,000.
I remember seeing them at Candlestick - my first concert.

  1. That must've been quite a first concert. I remember those days like they were yesterday particularly the excitement leading up to them being on the Ed Sullivan show. It just isn't quite the same anymore. But one thing for sure this music will live forever unlike much of what is played today.

  2. it was a great concert - just just wish i could remember more about it (laughing). 40 forking years ago - yet i remember the charm bracelet that left owies on my wrist from all the clapping and the sore throat from screaming and the cops tackling the fans on the field. yet i can not remember what songs were played - only being disapointed that a song i liked was not played.
