Pachelbel's Rant

I posted Pachelbel's Canon In D tonight at the lake and this video was left in the comments. From the utube:

A comedian rants about how much it sucks to play Pachelbel's Canon in D on a cello. Recorded live at Penn State, this piece by comedian/musician Rob Paravonian has been a favorite on the Dr. Demento Show.

Cracked me up. Enjoy.

Good Day For The Blues

Storyville - Good Day For The Blues - recorded live in 2006.

A drizzly day here at the cozy cottage on the Oregon coast. The seasons are changing - each day is a few degrees cooler and I'm enjoying watching the leaves falling from the birches, looking to see if others are showing their fall colors. The trees around me are primarily cypress or cedar. There are still blackberry bushes trying to set fruit - they were just flowering when I got up here when back in Boulder Creek, the blackberries were just about over with when I moved.

I am looking forward to sitting in the flat, watching nature put on her shows through the window overlooking the bay and wanna start figuring out what the birds are. It's a good day for the blues - ocean blue, water blue, sky blue - the blues of nature.

Steamroller Blues (live)

Steamroller Blues - James Taylor in concert.

I have no idea what year this is from but it is forkin' perfect for a Saturday - reminds me of the Saturday nite Dirty Boogie show I would listen to on KPIG at the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods. Thank goodness, I can still listen online at the cozy cabin on the Oregon coast. I have yet to find a good radio station that satisfies me up here.

Honkey Tonk Train

Honky Tonk Train performed by Seeley & Baldori. Some fine boogie woogie piano for this soft summer day on the Oregon coast.

Has been hovering between 69 and 70 degrees all afternoon with an occasional big gust of wind keeping the air clean and clear. Saw some big breakers when I went into town today - the drive to the store and back was lovely but there was a lot of traffic with a lotta folks getting a start on their Labor Day weekend. One of my neighbors told me that it will soon start to quiet down along the coast and the perfect summer days will change.

Lotsa changes - and I like change.

Things That I Used To Do

Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Fabulous Thunderbirds with Things That I Used To Do, live on the River Boat Queen, 1988.

Raining today at the cozy cottage on the coast. Only thing this place doesn't have is a fireplace or a wood stove to keep the damp outta the air. Fireplace, wood stove, pellet stove - they are on the list of things I must have no matter where I end up living.

Tis early in the storm and it is not a hard rain but is too much to be considered a drizzle. Is soft like a drizzle tho. Before it started raining, I had two big fat jays along with some little chickadees - birds I had at the feeder at the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods - at the bird feeder I hung outside the kitchen window today. Have 4 jay feathers I found my first full day here on the table. Feels right cozy - other than that no fireplace thang :)

Don't Get Me Started

Rodney Crowell - Don't Get Me Started

Yeap, been one of them days. Hell, its been one of them weeks (laughing). More stuff in the pod and we are almost done. Have to get the stuff from Jen's old storage Saturday and get my potted plants down to my friend who is going to watch them. Am renting a van Saturday to transport the boxes from storage to here, then the plants from her to there.

Final POD day is Tuesday with pickup scheduled for Wednesday, August 13 - my final day here. Next week, the adventure begins - this week is the week from packing hell that will make me appreciate nex week (laughing). I h-a-t-e moving.
