Baby Pineapple Snow

Snow falling Wednesday night on the back deck. When I woke up Thursday, a lot of it had melted off but there was still plenty of snow to look at.

The studio roof and garden still had snow along with the cape and alongside the road. Weather dood said we got around 2 inches of snow during the night.

From Jen's email with Baby Julianna's size descriptor for week 33:
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
I am so looking forward to spring -- not only will it be warmer (was 27 last night) but I get to finally meet my granddaughter. Jen had a 3D/4D ultrasound Thursday -- say howdy to Julianna Renee:

  2. aint it amazing ll -- she looks like jen did when jen was a wee baby -- same nose and lips

when i had jen, there was no ultrasounds and no way to tell what sex the baby was before it was born. technology sure has improved in the past 33 years

By leaps and bounds, that's for sure. I love Julianna's wee little rosebud mouth, and it looks like maybe her chin is resting on her left hand.

  6. Stand back, people! I'm moved to write a poem - en français!

    Bonjour, Julianna!
    C'est tu?
    C'est impossible,
    C'est tout!
    Nous vous voyons,
    Une belle fille,
    Aujourd'hui?
    Mais oui!
    Ah, technologie!
    Un miracle
    Comme tu!
    Salut, cher bébé!
    Ça va
    Julie-ananas?

And this is what (I hope) it says:

    Hello, Julianna!
    That's you?
    That's impossible,
    That's all!
    We see you,
    A beautiful girl,
    Today?
    But yes!
    Ah, technology!
    A miracle
    Like you!
    Hi, dear baby!
    How's it going,
    Julie-pineapple?

The grammar's probably atrocious, but I *think* I got most of the rhyming right. LOL.

Congratulations to you, Jen and daddy! She's gorgeous!

Suz, maybe you can tweet this:

A unionized public employee, a member of the Tea Party, and a CEO are sitting at a table. In the middle of the table there is a plate with a dozen cookies on it. The CEO reaches across and takes 11 cookies looks at the tea partier and says,"look out for that union guy, he wants a piece of your cookie."

  10. i saw that on twitter yesterday and did a re-tweet of it:

nightnewspam: Union member, Tea Partier, CEO have 12 cookies. CEO grabs 11, says to TPer: "Watch out for that union guy, he wants a bite of your cookie."
