Last Day

Today is the last day of my vacation. I stayed home and recharged my batteries a lot but I also got out and did some things and saw some places and played tourist.

Had a fantabulous bowl of leftover cioppino from the Three Capes Cafe. Kendra makes cioppino better than what I used to consider the best -- Scoma's on the wharf in San Francisco and Kendra's is $10 cheaper and right down the road!

Picked up an order yesterday - twas my treat to myself and the perfect way to end a vacation -- sucking crabmeat and shrimp out of their shells - slurping on all the garlicy tomato goodness in the broth and the yummy garlic toast. I've got enough left over for at least a third bowl tomorrow and am toying around with the idea of heading into town and picking up a few mussels, clams, and shellfish goodies to add to the broth. Of course, that would require that I change outta my jammies...

I'm really glad I took the week off. I am feeling better about most things -- no longer walking around with that black cloud of frustration and stress hanging over my head. Tis good to feel like me again.

  5. I very much like my Element but am not impressed with what Honda considers 4wd after driving Subarus for years. I know where you can get a cheap one.

  7. Not mine Suzanne-sorry bout that. Just have to drive a bit different. The rear doesn't kick in until the front starts to slip a certain amount.
I'm just used to it being there at all times. It's a very cool vehicle.

  8. oh -- thanks for clarifying one fly -- so the honda has a cityfied 4wd that is taking some getting used to. are those fold up,fold down, fold sideways seats working out well?

  9. Cityfied is a good choice of words. I believe it is working correctly and even the dumb clucks at a Honda dealership could not answer simple questions for me. In the future Ipost some type of review on this. I like the way it drives and performs at least on dry roads. The thing about 4wd is that on bumpy or rutted roads that got that way because of the incline they are on that it helps push you up the hill and the bumps and ruts make them less harsh. If the front wheels have to spin to be "sensed" before becoming operational you lose that. Seems to me the delay is too long.

Soon I will stay out in this. One seat will probably be left behind and it seems possible to sleep on the seats left fairly comfortably. Remains to be seen. There is ample room for two to camp and carry enough to stay out for awhile it seems.

This security crap is just that and I hate it. You should be given the choice of disabling security. It's a real pain in the ass. I do not fear anyone stealing my damn car.
