TWOTON GREEN BLOG... a twist on the way I would say my name as a small child, TwoTon Green Book. This, however, is a blog and not a book.

I'm In The Mood
John Lee Hooker and Bonnie Raitt perform I'm In The Mood from the DVD John Lee Hooker & Friends 1984-92.
Another gray day at the cozy cottage on the coast. Moving to the new place in a few days - I'm in the mood to move.
Someone stole my Bush Deserves A Third Term/A Prison Term bumper sticker off the car.

Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof
Travis Tritt - Ten Feet Tall And Bulletproof - an apt description of the way John McCain entered Friday night's debate - not how he left it.

Token Saves A Tree
Token is enjoying the walks down the gravel road that leads to the path to the beach. I'm avoiding taking him down to the actual beach because he would be vaulting over all those logs that I dare not cross and running for the waves to try to catch them.
Next week, when we are at the new place, I'll introduce him to the bay. Since Token has been known to surf the San Lorenzo River and jump gleefully into Bear Creek, I figure it's better to introduce him via baby steps to larger bodies of water.
Lou Ann Barton hanging out with The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Rocket In My Pocket sure has my toes tapping today. I'm rareing to go.

Good Day For The Blues
Storyville - Good Day For The Blues - recorded live in 2006.
A drizzly day here at the cozy cottage on the Oregon coast. The seasons are changing - each day is a few degrees cooler and I'm enjoying watching the leaves falling from the birches, looking to see if others are showing their fall colors. The trees around me are primarily cypress or cedar. There are still blackberry bushes trying to set fruit - they were just flowering when I got up here when back in Boulder Creek, the blackberries were just about over with when I moved.
I am looking forward to sitting in the flat, watching nature put on her shows through the window overlooking the bay and wanna start figuring out what the birds are. It's a good day for the blues - ocean blue, water blue, sky blue - the blues of nature.

Jazz Festival 6/9/07 to fall asleep by - tis a long one (26.07) but so was my trip. Thanks to my buddy Busted for reminding me of this video.
*sigh* Tis a wonderful thing falling asleep with my critters.

On The Road Again
I'm gonna be On The Road Again for the next several days - Thursday will find me headed down to get Token, the cutest dog in the world (9lb category) and Bailey the skittish cat.
Should be back early part of next week - am taking the laptop with me so if I find free wifi, I may be able to post something - not counting on it (laughing).

Looking towards the lighthouse across the bay.
Closeup of lighthouse across bay.
Looking down on the beach.
Little tiny blue daisy like flowers - I used the macro function on the camera.

Where I Am Now
These are pictures I took from where I am now - just north of Newport, Oregon. The views are not from the cozy cottage on the coast - I walked down the road (it turns to gravel about 50' from the cottage) taking pictures along the way down to the beach. I did not go down the path to the beach - so no pictures of the little secret waterfall. With this fake knee, I don't dare try to cross over all the washed up logs at the end of the path.
This is the view to the southwest, from the bluff.
More ocean views the further I walk.
Closeup view of the rocks offshore.
Surf crashing on the rocks offshore as seen through the trees - also a closeup.
Up on the bluff, the surf sounds like wind.
The logs blocking the beach at the end of the path. This is from the bluff above and does not show the logs extending in both directions
.Looking down watching the people on the beach.

More Pictures
The pictures of the house yesterday were the ones the landlord had sent me. The ones below are the one's I took yesterday with my new digital camera.
The wood stove.
View from the living room.
View from the kitchen deck.
Terraces on the north side of the house - I sit in the living room and can see grass at almost eye level.
Climbing roses(?) on the stairs to the bay deck.
Eat in kitchen.
Great view while loading the dishwasher(!) in the kitchen.

I'm Not Homeless Any More
I move into this place October 1st. It is on Netarts Bay, west of Tillamook. Tis a former bed and breakfast that has been converted into a duplex, upstairs and downstairs. I will be upstairs.
Bay at sunset - taken from the bay side deck.
Back of the house there is a second deck off the kitchen.

Steamroller Blues (live)
Steamroller Blues - James Taylor in concert.
I have no idea what year this is from but it is forkin' perfect for a Saturday - reminds me of the Saturday nite Dirty Boogie show I would listen to on KPIG at the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods. Thank goodness, I can still listen online at the cozy cabin on the Oregon coast. I have yet to find a good radio station that satisfies me up here.

Sarah Palin Gender Card
From The Daily Show last night - the Sarah Palin Gender Card segment.
*standing on chair clapping*
Thank you.
Watching her speech at the RNC, I thought to myself (and later commented over at the lake on Jane's Palin thread) that she is Ann Coulter in a church dress picked out by Pickles’ stylist. She wore a mini version of the Bush pearls and will be going after the Dick Cheney vote.
