Whammer Jammer

From the utube page:

Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue at Knuckleheads in Kansas City on February 8, 2008. Magic Dick (harp player for the J. Geils Band), heats up the house with the classic "Whammer Jammer" - includes Tommy Castro (guitar), Chris Sandoval (drums), and Scot Sutherland (bass)....though I think Tommy and Scot are just clapping - Dick and Chris are doing all the work.
Forking awesome harp playing.

Creepin' In

Norah Jones & Dolly Parton - Creepin' In live in Nashville, 2004.

Sweet Home Alabama

Leningrad Cowboys and The Soviet Red Army Choir - Sweet Home Alabama. From the utube page I found this video on:

The Leningrad Cowboys is a Finnish rock and roll band famous for its humorous songs and concerts featuring the Soviet Red Army Choir.

Currently, the band has eleven Cowboys and two Leningrad Ladies. The songs, all somewhat influenced by polka and progressive rock, and performed in English, have themes such as 'vodka', 'tractors', 'rockets', and 'Genghis Khan', as well as folkloric Russian songs, rock and roll ballads and covers from bands as diverse as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, all with lots of humour.

-----------------------------------

The Red Army Choir (Choir Aleksandrov) is a performing ensemble that served as the official army choir of the former Soviet Union's Red Army. The choir consists of a male choir, an orchestra, and a dance ensemble. The songs they perform range from Russian folk tunes to Church hymns, operatic arias and popular music.

In 1991, The Red Army Choir participated in Roger Waters' The Wall concert celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall. They performed an anti-war song "Bring the Boys Back Home".

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Red Army Choir has continued performing, entertaining audiences both inside and outside Russia

Happy Blogiversary To Me

I started TwoTonGreenBlog on St. Patricks Day, 2006.

Does this mean I get presents like a birthday? I'm partial to cash buyers and seem to be unable to find any. Not one person showed up for that heavily advertised open house Sunday afternoon. Sigh.

The Spy

The Doors The Spy set to scenes from Dangerous Liaisons.

I'm not buying the bank transaction story that DOJ is trying oh so hard to sell in the Spitzer story. This is another D governor being taken out by the Bush controlled (and therefore R) DOJ - just like the one in Alabama on 60 Minutes. This was a political hit. Gov. Spitzer was stupid and got caught. My beef is with how he got caught - my inner voice is whispering fruit of the poisonous tree.

He forgot that NSA and the GOP vacuum up everything... I know your deepest secret fear. I'm a spy. I can see you. What you do. And I know...

Embedding disabled by request

Fork, I really wanted you to see this video but it is Embedding disabled by request. Fork.

Fork, ok, go watch it and then come back

How can something that good not be promoted? Egad, no wonder only 3,436 people have seen it. My little place here won't generate hits for it but if I could have ran it over at the lake... Oh well, end of rant. Wish I could have shown you Zucchero Diavolo In Me with Francesca from Star Academy 2004.

Lover, You Dont Treat Me No Good No More

Original video from Sonia Dada for his song Lover, You Dont Treat Me No Good No More.

My pal Busted over at Onery Bastard has given up his blogspot digs and moved over to wordpress. Go over and say hi to him at his shiny new place. I actually got my blogroll updated on the same day that he notified me of the move.

Cold Sweat

Boneshakers featuring Randy Jacobs and Sweetpea Atkinson video for Cold Sweat from their CD Book Of Spells.

Been almost spring like up here. High's in the high 60's but the lows are still getting down into the mid and low 30's at night. Not quiet spring - yet.

Hideaway/Rude Mood

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble peforming Hideaway and Rude Mood, live At Montreux, 1982.

Fork, I had a busy Tuesday nite. Was hosting the live blog threads from the primaries yesterday from about 8:30 (PST) . In addition to my regularly scheduled Late Late Nite post. I ended up hosting 3 threads.

Gotta admit to feeling like a little dog running with the big dogs when doing anything other than a Late Late Nite post but ... I did and I think it was successful. Oy, where's the aspirin? (laughing)

Bailey's Toon Tuesday: Room and Bird

I tried to convince Bailey that Bailey's Toon Tuesday just doesn't have the same cache that Token's Toon Tuesday does but ... ever try to convince a cat to change her mind about anything? Sigh.

Warner Bros' Merrie Melodies present Tweety in Room and Bird.

Bailey also insists that you watch this over at her favorite blog - don't know why she has such a crush on Watertiger especially since Bailey Does Not Like Water. Evah.

Back on Terra Ferma/Sweet Dreams

The Hellecasters - Back on Terra Firma that slides right into Sweet Dreams from the Ohne Filter show in 1994. I was looking for Will Ray's Santa Cruzin but it's not up on the Utube. I found this fine fine piece of ear candy featuring Will Ray, John Jorgenson, and Jerry Donahue - also known as The Hellecasters.

FDL Bear Creek Meetup

We had a blast. I'm too tired to do anything other than post this picture of Token and I that nahant so kindly sent me tonight.

The firepups who attended were:

Teddy SF
Kirk Murphy
newtonusr
egregious
Things Come Undone
spurious
Nahant

Four pups were not able to make it due to that nasty flu that is going around. Things Come Undone drove down from Seattle just to attend! Dood certainly got the most miles traveled for this meetup and I think the most miles driven to any of the regional Firepup Meetups.

Token was wearing his lavender sweater with his name tag since he's a pup too. Nahant brought his dog, Tucker and Token and Tucker bonded running down at the beach.

Without Me

Music video by Eminem performing Without Me: MTV Version
with Marshall Mathers, Jeffrey Bass, Kevin Bell, Malcolm McLaren, Trevor Horn, and Anne Dudley.

One of my favorite rap/hip hop protest songs set to a very very funny video. Love the homage to Batman the TV series.

Saint Of Me

The Rolling Stones Saint of Me (Music Video) - because it's coming up on Saturday night and I gotta get my groove on. Unka Sherman is back from his sabbatical which means Dirty Boogie on KPIG tonight.

Call Me The Breeze

JJ Cale and Eric Clapton performing Call Me The Breeze at what I think is the 2004 (?) Crossroads Guitar Festival.

Tis a breezy day today and I am getting the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods ready for the Bear Creek chapter Firepup Meetup here tomorrow. My eye still looks all funky - as if I were an reject from some slasher film. Oy.

UPDATE: Per Rock in the comments:
Yes, that's the Crossroads Festival in Dallas, 2004. Chris Lakeland on rhythm guitar (Mrs. Cale), Jimmy Karstein on drums, Bill Raffensperger on bass, me (Rocky Frisco) on piano, with Cale and Eric on guitar.
